Lakes Creek is a co-educational Prep to 7 state school under the governance of Education Queensland and funded through the Department of Education and the Arts.

All levels from Prep to year 7 are offered on an annual basis. Class composition varies depending of student numbers in each cohort. In 2009 our Prep to 7 enrolment is approximately 210. Our class structure for 2009 is as follows:
